The first KESSLER labels from 1826 proudly featured the following in French: G. C. Kessler, former associate of the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne House in Reims. This suggests that Kessler considered the bottle label to be an excellent advertising vehicle, even then. Yet what was especially striking, was its unconventional, eight-sided shape. It was the blueprint for the distinctive octagonal label that all KESSLER bottles have today — not least as a tribute to the creativity and individuality of the company founder.
