Georg Christian von Kessler died after a long illness on December 16, 1842. He was buried in the family grave of his second wife, Auguste, in the Hoppenlau Cemetery, Stuttgart. His wife was a daughter of Christian Friedrich von Vellnagel, a Minister of State under the King of Württemberg. In the year of Kessler’s death, the company recorded sales of 46,500 bottles, of which about one-third were exported – much of it to Russia.
