Even the ”Great Eastern Hotel“ in Calcutta, the grandest hotel at the time in India, served its guests KESSLER’s ‘Grand Mousseux‘. It was personally selected and imported by the hotel owner David Wilson. Interestingly, the label on its bottle did not feature St Dionys, the parish church of Esslingen, but rather the Cathedral of Reims ! In the same year, KESSLER Cabinet was included in the provisions of the second German North Pole Expedition. The expedition set out to map the east coast of Greenland and venture into the hitherto unknown interior of the island.
