In February 1956, Chancellor Konrad Adenauer visited KESSLER and took part in a Sekt tasting session. Himself being a renowned wine connoisseur, the Chancellor then decided that from then on official guests of the government would be served KESSLER Hochgewächs. Throughout the numerous decades thereafter many illustrious personalities have enjoyed Sekt from Esslingen. Among the guests were Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, President Charles de Gaulle of France, and Presidents John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush from the United States of America.
