With the KESSLER KARREE 18 – the new Sekt lounge overlooking Esslingen’s Rathausplatz – the company, while still steeped in its history, presents itself as a modern, contemporary business. In 2007, the year which marked the bicentenary of Georg Christian von Kessler’s joining the Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin champagne house in Reims, samples from all five KESSLER sparkling wines excelled in an international ‘blind tasting’ contest organised by Stern magazine – against strong competition from the French champagne industry. KESSLER Jägergrün came out as the best amongst all of the Riesling sparklings.
